How much does a wood model maker make?

What's a typical day like?

They read blueprints, mark and cut wood with saws or planers, then fasten pieces into a model or jig. They check measurements, shape and sand the surfaces, and may add a protective finish.

In the US, learn woodworking and blueprint skills through vocational training, related shop work, or an associate program; the job often takes one to two years of on-the-job and informal training. A registered apprenticeship is another route.
