About this site
Who Earns What is an encyclopedia of pay for kids and students, built from official statistics and public disclosures. It covers 830 jobs in the United States and 144 in Japan, 105 well-known people, and 150 questions kids often ask.
What we care about
- Numbers come from government statistics. The US figures are from the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics; Japan's are from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's Basic Survey on Wage Structure. Every page names its source and year.
- The typical person, not the average. US pages lead with the median (the person in the middle if you lined up 100) and always show a lower and a higher earner. Japan publishes only averages, and we say so.
- Estimates are labelled. Athletes' and executives' figures carry a badge saying whether they come from a league, a filing, a law, or a press estimate.
- Safe for kids. No ads, no tracking, no accounts.
Who runs it
Who Earns What is published by Offeredly LLC. An editorial team builds it from official statistics and public disclosures. There are no ads, no accounts and no visitor tracking.
Disclaimer
The figures here are reference values based on official statistics and public information. Pay varies a lot between people in the same job, and nothing on this site guarantees what any particular person or company actually pays or earns. Figures for named people are labelled on each page as set by law, officially disclosed, reported by a league or association, or estimated by the press. Check the sources on each page before relying on a number.
Corrections and contact
If you spot an error or an outdated figure, email hello@whoearnswhat.com with a source. We will check it and post the correction and update date on the page.
Japanese edition
The same data is published in Japanese at おしごと給料図鑑, where Japan's jobs come first and US jobs live under the "アメリカ" section.
