What's a typical day like?

A mediator reviews papers and listens as each side explains its concerns. They guide a calm discussion, may meet each side separately, and help write an agreement if both sides choose to settle.

In the US, mediators usually earn a bachelor’s degree, gain experience in law or business, and take mediation training or an internship. No national license is required, but some states or courts require certification for certain cases.
