How much does a fitness instructor make?

In the United States, pay can differ with experience, certification, and the kind of gym or employer. Location, specialty, and how many classes or shifts someone works can matter too.

Instruct or coach groups or individuals in exercise activities for the primary purpose of personal fitness. Demonstrate techniques and form, observe participants, and explain to them corrective measures necessary to improve their skills. Develop and implement individualized approaches to exercise. What's a typical day like?

They plan a class, pick music, and demonstrate each move while watching how everyone is doing. They correct form, offer easier or harder options, and keep the workout safe.

In the U.S., finish high school, earn a specialty credential, and learn CPR, first aid, and AED use; employers often prefer certification. ACE’s group-fitness exam requires age 18+, a diploma, and hands-on CPR/AED training.
